Rotary International District 3234 began its journey as Rotary International District 3230 in 1985. Initially covering Chennai & City Plus, Pondicherry, and Hosur, it shifted focus entirely to Chennai & City Plus starting 1993.
It evolved into Rotary International District 3232 in 2017, and went on to become the Largest Rotaract District by Member Strength, boasting a whopping 30,000+ active Rotaractors.
In 2024, Rotary International District 3234 was formed as the current evolution of the two esteemed and erstwhile districts. The district continues to build upon the rich history and legacy of its predecessors, carrying forward their visions of leadership and community to the next level.
The District is now home to 3000+ passionate Rotaractors comprising college students, working professionals, and entrepreneurs.
Rotary International is a globally recognized volunteer organisation of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service and help build goodwill and peace in their communities. There are over 1.2 million Rotarians (Rotary Club members) belonging to 35,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. “ROTARY MY FLAG MY INDIA” was a mega event organized by RI District 3230, to reignite the passion of the youth towards the country and to respect the National Flag. It was organized to showcase the Secularism of the World’s largest democratic. 53,000 people came together to form a human National flag of the Indian Tricolor, setting the Guinness record.
